Located on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana features the longest coral reef on the island. Along this 19 mile reef, you will find cactus coral, sea rods, squirrelfish, damselfish, sea fans, yellowtail snapper, butterfly fish, and blue tang. One of most interesting of the area's more than 25 dive sites is Laguna Pepe, a freshwater cavern in the center of a golf course near the ocean. The inside of the cavern is reminiscent of a cathedral, and opens up to an area 160 feet wide by 65 feet high.
